Umm... am I ready for this.

So, today one of my neighbors/ friends had a precious little girl, Mara Grace. (pictures to be posted at the end of this post). I went up to the Hospital because I couldn't wait to get my hands on that precious little girl and ask her why she was holding out for so long in her mama's belly ( a week overdue). I was snapping pictures of sweet Mara and taking in all of the advice the Reann had to give me about labor and all of these wonderful crazy mommy things and a bit of panic began to come over me.

In less than 9 short weeks I will be a mommy. Forever. Like, this is something that will never end. In two years, I will have a two year old... In 18 years my child will be graduating from high school. oh my gosh. What am I doing???

HA! But seriously. I don't know if I am ready for this. This whole pregnancy thing has been an experience in and of itself. Spending countless nights/days with my head in the toilet, laying in bed at night with tears rolling down my face because my back hurts so bad and there is no way to get comfortable. Watching the number on the scale go up and up and up to numbers that I didn't even know my body could produce on a scale. Watching my belly move like an earthquake at night as my baby gets comfy.

Also, there are the amazing parts. Seeing the little flicker of a heart beat at our first appointed. OR seeing our babies face and realizing that it looks just like his/her dad. Hearing from the doctor that we have made a perfectly beautiful baby. Feeling it kick for the firs time. Watching Drew's face as he felt it kick for the first time. Discussing names and trying to find the perfect name to fit our little one for the rest of his or her life.

Now that I have adjusted to being pregnant I gotta get this thing outta me? Are you serious?? My life has to change again. Haha. I know I know, it is going to be wonderful and perfect and so so beautiful and I cannot wait. But I will be spending the next few weeks trying to prepare myself for this life changing experience. Any advice?? Should I read a book? Should I spend lots of time on my knees praying for Jesus to give me some knowledge?? Should I just sleep?

I'm a little nervous.

Anyways, here are some precious pics of Mara Grace...

No More Skinny Club...

Well, I got kicked out of the skinny club. Not by my skinny friends, but by my mean ol doctor. About a week and a half ago I slid down a hill while picking berries and landed on my right hip. Don't worry I went to the doctor the next day and baby C is perfectly fine. But mama, wasn't so fine. Since then my hip has progressively been getting worse... and yesterday was the breaking point. I knew that I shouldn't go on a walk but being the stubborn person I am, I went anyways. By about 3:30 in the afternoon I could no longer walk, stand up sit down bend over... blah blah. Last night I laid in bed crying and trying to find a way to lay that wouldn't cause tears to come to my eyes... Finally at 9:00 Drew woke up and took me to the doctor. First of all, GOOD news, I didn't gain one pound in 2 weeks!! Woo! FINALLY!!!! This almost stopped me from crying... haha.

Anyways, Doc said that it could be a slipped disc or the baby is laying on a nerve and causing excruciating pain to send out into the whole right side of my body. BUT the only thing that he could do for me was tell me to take tylenol and start swimming instead of walking because he wouldn't do an X Ray or MRI, no need to expose these things to baby C. Just let mama hurt for the next 10 weeks!

Anyways, Drew and I have been laying on the couch watching movies today and resting. I can handle this whole being pregnant thing, but I cannot handle this pain. NO THANK YOU. So for the next 10 weeks, lets hope 8, I will be resting and not wearing myself out anymore.

Welp that's all.

Smart Car...

We are the proud owners of a 2008 Prius Hybrib. We have gone from spending $400 a month on gas to $90-$120!! So, our car payment is basically the money we would be spending on gas. Nice. The car is big with a huge hatch back trunk to hold all of the gear that our new arrival will need. Along with this car just being plain awesome, it's a smart car. If you have your key anywhere on you or in your purse it will just unlock when you walk up to it. Then you just hit a button to start the thing... you don't have to even use your key, just have it on you. On top of that we have a back up camera... awesome.

So, why am I telling you all of these things?? Because today Drew took the Prius (to get the oil changed and the tires rotated, what a sweetie), and I had to drive the old Olds-mobile Alero, (which they no longer make because it was such a piece of crap.)

Anyways, I get in the car and start looking for the button to hit. Ehhhmm blondie, put the key in the car, you aren't in the Prius. My genius husband forgot to take off his soft top surf rack so I am having to lean forward or backward because I am so stinking tall it's cutting into my head. What I didn't know is that the soft rack needed to be removed before I got onto the highway. The straps start flopping in the wind and banging against the window. CRAP! On top of that every time I went over a bump I thought the transmission was going to fall out of the car. Clink Clank pop boom... Whip whip whip of the soft top. My gosh!! I drove this car for the past 7 years and thought that it was a GREAT car! I never complained about it. Now, after driving my Smart Car Prius my poor little car seems like a piece to me! This made me sad.

I have no idea what this post means. :) just my day.

Pregnant Cravings

7 Month Belly

Cravings...

I wish I understood the science of crazy pregnant cravings.

THANKFULLY things have slowed down a ton and I am not hungry ALL of the time. The hard thing now is that baby is all up in my stomach so I don't have much room for food so I slowly graze all day long. Oh well.

Anyways here is a glimpse into my wild world of cravings.

SALT- The first Tri-Mester I wanted to shake the salt shaker into my mouth. I would be out driving and justs CRAVE chips and pull over and buy a huge bag of chips. One day I went to visit Drew at work and on the way stopped at the grocery store for a jar of pickles... and I think I ate the whole jar.

BREADS- The entire pregnancy I have craved breads. Not like a piece of bread but flavored bread. Like cinnamon rolls or bagels or and kind of bread that you could bake. YUM

SWEETS- Now I want sweets. Like 24/7 Lately I have wanted to go to the store and buy a jar of that Funfetti Icing and just eat the whole thing. I do not think that anyone would mind... except maybe baby C.

Life as a pregnant lady is one crazy experience. I think all of us pregnant ladies should collectively write a book. Is anyone in???

3rd Trimester...

Well, I am moments away from the third tri-mester and I can slowly feel my body beginning to feel incredibly incredibly PREGNANT. Last night I was craving buffalo chicken nuggets (strange I know). So I ran to SafeWay thru them in the oven and after eating ONE yes ONE I was stuffed. Don't worry I managed to work down about to more but regretted it the rest of the evening. Baby C is officially pushing on my stomach and making me feel uncomfortably full, EVEN WHEN I AM HUNGRY!! This is kind of a plus because maybe it will help me not be big momma Shan come October 7th but I still want to enjoy my food!

On top of the full feeling I can not sleep. Last night I swear that I peed 24 times. Seriously. I don't even know how I make it to the bathroom because I am so out of it. I run into EVERYTHING on the way down the hall... I feel like such a mess. There is no comfortable way to lay and if I even try to lay on my back or side stomach Drew starts screaming at me that I am going to hurt the baby. (I am regretting taking him to my appointments now, ha).

But, one positive thing, me and my girls Amy and Reann have started an exclusive club. (sorry you can't join unless your 7 months pregnant) We call ourselves "The Skinny Club!" Don't worry Reann is 9 months pregnant and Amy and I are both 7 months pregnant. We have been walking every morning at 8:00 AM! (Since non of us can sleep in anyways). I love watching people's reactions when they pass! Anyways, I will try to snap a picture of us before Reann goes into labor! Too fun!!

Twelve more weeks to go. I wouldn't mind if baby C decided to join us early though. I cannot wait to find out what this little booger is!
